China Consulting assisted a global corporation to enter into a strategic alliance with a Chinese insurance broker with the aim of providing online insurance to the Chinese domestic market. This involved detailed research into the Chinese insurance sector, covering the potential for growth, the legal considerations of an international partnership and an assessment of potential Chinese partners. China Consulting representatives subsequently contacted their database of relevant Chinese brokers and arranged preliminary meetings at their offices in China. Our representatives gave cross-cultural training to the company directors before departure to China and accompanied them at all meetings, partaking in negotiations and acting as interpreters where necessary. Following agreements between the two sides, China Consulting offered assistance in setting up a Chinese office, the recruitment of local staff and in the planning of future operational strategies.
